Beloved teacher-coach Ken VanderZwaag passes away

Dec 9, 2013 | Uncategorized

School sport lost a respected leader on Friday, December 6 with the passing of Ken VanderZwaag after a three-year battle with cancer.  Mr. VanderZwaag was a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Woodland Christian High School in Breslau for the past 30 years.  He served in many leadership capacities in school athletic associations at the local and provincial levels, including 10 years as the CWOSSA boys’ representative to OFSAA.  Mr. VanderZwaag believed that sport is about character, commitment, work ethic, and personal growth, and impressed this upon his student-athletes.

In lieu of flowers, sympathy donations to Woodland Christian High School – Capital Campaign would be appreciated and may be made through the Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener, (519) 749-8467.  Visit www.henrywalser.com to view a memorial.

Our condolences go to the VanderZwaag family.
