Congratulations To The Lynx!

Jan 15, 2024 | Recognition

Recognizing a deserving school with The Team Sportsmanship Award has been a longtime staple at OFSAA championships.

The tradition continues again in 2023-24. OFSAA was extremely pleased to share in the excitement of having the É.S.C. Saint-Charles-Garnier girl’s basketball team recognized at a school assembly on Friday. The team was selected for the honour among the championship’s 18 team entries. OFSAA Assistant Director Nicole Clarke was on hand to present the team with the special banner.

The Team Sportsmanship Award was a first for the school representing Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) in Belleville for the Girls’ Basketball Championship.

Congratulations to Teacher-Coach Eric Veilleux and the entire team for their exemplary display on and off the court and representing their school so well outside of their local association.

The following schools were recognized with the Team Sportsmanship Award in the fall:

•Girls’ Field Hockey – South Huron District High School (WOSSAA)

•Boys’ A Volleyball – Red Lake District High School (NWOSSAA)

•Boys’ AA Volleyball – Port Perry High School (LOSSA)

•Boys’ AAA Volleyball – Upper Canada College (CISAA)

•Girls’ A Basketball – É.S.C. Saint-Charles-Garnier (LOSSA)

•Girls’ AA Basketball – É.S.C. Beatrice-Desloges (NCSSAA)

•Girls’ AAA Basketball – Bishop Allen Academy (TDCAA)
